Hyundai Inster 2025 review: Cheap new electric car arrives as Korean alternative to BYD Dolphin

The 2025 Hyundai Inster is the fully electric vehicle that you didn't expect from the popular South Korean car brand. Yep, it's a micro SUV, a segment that doesn't really exist, not yet at least. Think a Mini-sized, five-door hatchback on stilts. And much like its British counterpart, the Inster makes a statement with its exterior design, which is arguably divisive. Inside, the Inster shows off its practical side with a four-seat layout that can be configured in a way that you most adults could sleep in it without issue. But perhaps the more important aspect is the single electric motor, which drives the front wheels and outputs up to 85kW of power and 147Nm of torque. Battery packs are up to 49kWh in size, delivering a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 360km.
