Roundtable Discussion based on Panelist Presentation: Lately, there have been increased discussions on the podium about the discrepancy between echo-derived and cath measured gradients. This phenomenon has implications for everyone in the heart team, including the implanter and the referring cardiologist as they work together to treat and monitor patients after their SAVR or TAVR procedure. There is growing awareness that some unnecessary post-AVR interventions might occur due to limited knowledge about the echo-cath discrepancy, thus raising patient safety concerns. This session broadens the education, including referring cardiologists, on this discrepancy and how it could impact their practice moving forward.
