On December 30, 2024, the ARD television network showed a new documentary about Germany's most successful music producer Frank Farian (real name Franz Reuther). During his more than 60-year career in show business, Farian has sold more than a billion records worldwide. Only a few world-class producers have been able to achieve such results. In the early 1960s, he first appeared on stage with his rock 'n' roll band Frankie Farian and the SHADOWS. A few years later, he began a solo career as a performer of German hits at the insistence of the then head of the Munich record label ARIOLA. However, Frank loved African-American music, so he gradually began to realize his creative ambitions as a producer in the mid-1970s at the West Berlin label HANSA Records. These were the heyday of the disco era. This way he becomes known internationally and his career takes off... Farian's most famous projects: Gilla, Boney M., ERUPTION, FAR Corporation, MILLI VANILLI, LA BOUCHE, NO MERCY. Farian has also produced artists such as Meat Loaf, Terence Trent D'Arby, Precious Wilson, Daniel Lopes, Jane Collins and many others. Franz Reuther died on January 23, 2024 in Miami.
