Rhexis with Utrata forceps Soosan Jacob

Hi friends, this is the second in my series. "Phaco for beginners". This video shows how to perform a rhexis with the Utrata forceps. Of course, it is easier if the microrhexis forceps is used, however the Utrata is cheaper and is available with most surgeons. The technique for microrhexis forceps is mostly similar except that it can be inserted with a partial entry main port and consequently there is less egress of viscoelastic during maneuvers resulting in a more stable anterior chamber. With microrhexis forceps that have a sharp tip, the rhexis can be initiated and continued with the forceps without having to change instruments. Hope you enjoy and do watch out for more!
