Gabriel was displaced during the 2007 post-election violence and became a refugee until 2010 when he returned to Eldoret. With help from Rural Women Peace Link, he and his community at Block D voiced their grievances through elected representatives, leading to improved services and new facilities in the area. The participatory videos featured on this playlist are the result of a locally-led evaluation process carried out by young people from communities in the North Rift Valley and Western Kenya. See the full playlist, featuring 4 stories of change: • Youth & Women for Peace: Impact Evaluation... These stories highlight the impact of Rural Women Peace Link's (RWPL) “Strengthening Local Capacities for Peace” project, which used the Participatory Video and Most Significant Change (PVMSC) methodology to evaluate the project's impact from 2018 to 2022. InsightShare trained young people from both communities in the PVMSC methodology, with support from Utu International. Rural Women Peace Link (RWPL), Utu International, and InsightShare come together through their shared commitment to support systemically marginalised communities and foster positive social change. RWPL focuses on peacebuilding and conflict mitigation, Utu supports youth leadership in these areas, and InsightShare provides tools such as participatory video to amplify local voices in advocacy contexts. This multi-partnership collaboration fosters a locally-led approach to capacity strengthening, enabling communities to claim their rights and work toward peace and development through participatory methods. _________________________________ About InsightShare We support people to use video for: advocacy, research, programme design, innovation, monitoring and evaluation and community engagement.
