Scrutiny of the Multidimensional Thumb Muscles Preview
This is a video preview for one of many online courses for continuing education credit we offer at www.handlab.com In this 1.5 hour lecture each of the eight thumb muscles is examined in detail for its normal and potentially pathological effect on all joints it crosses. This course demonstrates how thumb muscles work in concert and how a muscle that only crosses one joint can create movement at other joint/s. Attention is given to the three muscles that simultaneously flex the MP joint and extend the IP joint while also creating movement at the CMC joint. This review explains how imbalances at the CMC joint interplays with imbalances at the other joints. This course is the second part of six lectures that are intended to be viewed in sequence.
