Phillip Sear plays a study somewhat in the style of a berceuse by the French composer Eugène Nollet (c1829-1904) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #2 (Lent, tristement) from 15 Études Mélodiques, Op. 43 (1869) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I currently know little about the composer of this piece, Eugène Nollet (c1829-1904). I believe he came from a French family of music teachers living in Truro, England, and that he won second prize for harp at the Paris Conservatoire in 1845. He played harp in the Paris Opéra orchestra, and was also a juror in Conservatoire competitions. He wrote both for harp and piano. After I recorded his Élegie, Op. 88 a while ago, I was contacted by a viewer in France who owns what might well be a harp once owned by Nollet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: piano4@psear.33mail.com WhatsApp: http://wa.me/441444483794 ) TikTok: / pianogems
