ANOINTED TO RECEIVE, POSSESS, AND GIVE OUT 1. Receiving the measure of grace gives you two things: Christ Himself and what belongs to Him—the King and the Kingdom. Ephesians 4:7: “For to every one of us is the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ (Himself).” Grace: charis Gifts: charisma John 1:16–17: “For out of His fullness we have all received, all had a share, and we were all supplied with one grace after another grace and one spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and favor upon favor and gift upon gift. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” 2. Maturing into the full measure of the anointing Measure: a portion set apart for you—your personal inheritance in Christ. You are being set apart to receive what is set apart for you. 1 John 2:20: “But you have an unction from the Holy One [you have been set apart, gifted and prepared by the Holy Spirit], and you know all things.” Unction: to contact by smearing and rubbing oil; anointed for service. 3. We must run a disciplined race to win the prize Philippians 3:12–14: “It is not that I have already obtained it or already reached the goal—no, I keep pursuing it in the hope of taking hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. I do not think of myself as having yet possessed it; but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind me and straining forward toward what lies ahead, I keep pursuing the goal of winning the prize offered by God’s upward calling in Christ Jesus.” Hebrews 12:1–2: “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so easily clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady, active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, looking away from all that will distract to Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.” 2 Timothy 4:6–7: “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” If you’d like, I can also give you a short summary or turn this into a teaching outline or social post.
