The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund has concluded its weeklong outreach programme in the Omaheke Region, aimed at taking services closer to the communities. Speaking at Epukiro, the Manager for Public Education at the MVA Fund, Eliphas Rukambe, said one of the key aspects that came up during the engagement was procedures to follow when claiming from the Fund. "We have started as far as Otjinene, Eiseb, and Okatumba Gate. Now we are in Epukiro, Otjimanangombe, and Okatuuo. These are some of the villages we have visited thus far, but we have learnt that there is really a lack of knowledge; people are not aware of the fund, and they do not know what they need to do when they're involved in an accident." Also of concern to Rukambe is road safety, saying the rate at which the number of crashes are happening is alarming. Speaking at the event was Otjimanangombe resident Jariyo Kaiko, who is also a car crash survivor. "I am well informed today. I happened to be in an accident, but I did not have information then, so I did not submit any claim. However, now I know what to do. I took their numbers, so I'm very much updated now." The Omaheke residents have called for the MAV Fund to open regional offices so they have easy access to services. Rukambe assured the residents that their plea will be attended to. #NBCNews #nbcdigitalnews #nbcDSTV282 #nbcGOtv20 #nbcPlusApp
