A keyword is not an “important word.” In IELTS Listening and Reading, a keyword is a search word—the word (or short phrase) that helps you locate the answer fast, even when IELTS paraphrases the sentence. In this lesson, you’ll learn: • What a keyword really is (in IELTS, not in general English) • The 3 ways IELTS matches keywords: meaning, grammar, signals • The 4 types of keywords you should look for: 1. Anchor keywords (names, numbers, times, places) 2. Idea keywords (synonyms & paraphrases) 3. Limiter keywords (main, only, most, first, etc.) 4. Question-instruction keywords (why, purpose, attitude, problem, result…) Then we practice with real IELTS Listening MCQs and Reading Yes/No/NG statements, and I show you the rule that stops you from drowning: Two is okay.
