#c40lfr #newflyer #translink TransLink's C40LFRs (3309-3358) started service in 2006 as one of the first operators and the largest in Canada with 50 units. They were originally equipped with the Cummins Gas Plus engines but three buses (3312, 3348 and 3356) were re-engined with the Cummins Westport ISL-G shared with the newer XN40s. The first C40LFR retired in late 2023 and the majority of the fleet followed suit in late 2024, and most of 2025 only leaving 17 units listed as still operating, but that number could be lower. With the chances of these buses surviving the year extremely low, here's a compilation of them in action between 2022 and 2025 across the tri-cities and their pre-retirement expansion to 22nd Street and Metrotown. UPDATE Now there are only 9 units and all the Cummins Westport ISL-G engine swaps were retired. NEW UPDATE The last four C40LFRs retired last week, ending operations in Metro Vancouver after 19 years.
