The Abarth 600e Scorpionissima’s Mini JCW Aceman Problem…

The Abarth 600e Scorpionissima has rightfully received a lot of praise, but there is one challenger that might give it a headache, and not just because it's equally as vocal (at least inside). The new Mini John Cooper Works Aceman is a rival that couldn't be more closely aligned, with similar power, electric range and interior space. Each of these two hot crossover (or big hot hatchback) rivals offers more all-round usability than the smaller Alpine A290, and more vibes than the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX. But which of them is best? To find out, I pit these respective sub-£40,000 electric hatchbacks against each other, evaluating their designs, interiors and on-road performance. While they're quite similar on paper, it turns out they couldn't be much more different in reality. Filmed using an iPhone 15 and GoPro Hero 10, and edited by myself.
