This part 2 of my 2 part video tour of Greenfield village. The best outdoor museum in the world in my opinion. Also there will be additional videos of a ride on a 1800's era Greenfield village steam train around the village and a ride in an old Model-T Ford car. In addition there will be a video of the Henry Ford museum next door and one at the Ford rouge factory plant. Greenfield village is located in Dearborn, Michigan (just outside Detroit). On the Ford motor company grounds right next to the Henry Ford museum. After Henry Ford become one of the richest men in the world, by making the biggest, most successful car company in the world, he spent a lot of his money on his other love, history. America, and the world were rapidly changing thanks in large part to the industrial revolution and Henry wanted to preserve the past. Old homes and buildings were being replaced with more modern ones. A lot of history was being lost. So, Henry Ford bought up a lot of homes and buildings and even bridges and transportation from the past. And he brought them to Dearborn (the same place he made his Ford motor company plant and headquarters) and made his own little town or village out of historical places. We will visit many places including the home of Orville and Wilbur Wright and their bicycle shop where they made the world's first airplane, Menlo Park laboratory where Thomas Edison made the incandescent light bulb, the phonograph and many more inventions. the home where Henry Ford grew up as well as the school he attended, the courthouse where a young Abraham Lincoln practiced law and so, so much more. A truly incredible place that everyone should see and experience. I can not emphasize enough how cool this place is and how impressive it is. If you are a history buff do yourself a favor and come here. And if you are not a history buff do yourself a favor and come here anyway. You might just be one when you're done. I apologize part one had a few parts where my voice came out too soft. I tried to raise my voice volume on this video. 0:00 Ackley covered bridge 2:12 Edison homestead 8:07 Giddings family home 9:50 Susquehanna plantation 13:05 Cotswold cottage 17:20 Daggett farmhouse 21:12 Farris windmill - oldest in America 22:39 Plympton family home 25:13 Noah Webster home 26:09 Robert Frost home 27:28 Luther Burbank birthplace 27:54 Hermitage slave quarters 31:05 Mattox family home 35:15 George Washington Carver log cabin 36:08 Logan county courthouse - Where Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer 38:12 Greenfield quartet barbershop band sings 41:41 Scotch settlement school 44:00 Eagle tavern 46:39 J.R.
