This beautiful SUV, number 1459 to be exact, is literally in showroom condition and is THE lowest mileage Defender 90 known to exist (by NAS Standards)!! This SUV is SO original that it still is covered in factory cosmoline. It's safe to say that it is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that another vehicle of this caliber will come up for sale to the public! This handsome Defender comes to us under unfortunate circumstances. We have been given the honor of liquidating this Defender on behalf of our local Commerce Bank Trust Company, who is the conservator for the selling party. The seller, a die-hard automobile collector of ALL sorts, has fallen ill in an untimely fashion. This gentleman has a fine assortment of impeccable vehicles, including this Land Rover, a 1954 MG TF, 1949 MG TC, 1957 Ford Thunderbird and a 1969 Jaguar E Type, amongst others that we will be selling soon. Please know that this incredibly preserved and 100% correct vehicle has been babied and garaged in a climate controlled garage since he took delivery of the vehicle over 17 years ago. That's right -- he took delivery of this fine British SUV, backed it into his garage, parked it and NEVER drove it again. Finished in the rarely seen "Monza Red," this Defender 90 Soft Top is one of only 183 Monza Red D90's ever built, starting in 1997 when the color was introduced. When delivery was taken on this vehicle, there was never a PPI done on the D90, the ORIGINAL, NEVER MOUNTED window sticker is still intact on its ORIGINAL paperback and there is still cosmoline covering parts of this SUV as shipped from the Solihull factory. This vehicle is a literal TIME CAPSULE! The black canvas soft top is in impeccable condition -- as in the top has NEVER been down and the factory tool is still sealed in its original packaging! The vinyl windows are also in excellent condition - however; there is a very slight mar on the left rear side vinyl window, which is the ONLY flaw we've been able to find on the entire vehicle. As mentioned before, this is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity to get an extremely sought after British SUV! Inside, the interior still smells BRAND NEW. The entire interior is pristine, down to the rubber floor mats. The center Tuffy box contains an AM/FM/Cassette player and appears to have been opened maybe once. The seats are wrapped in gray Duragrain and show absolutely zero signs of wear or imperfection. Duragrain is a durable, vinyl material that is weatherproof and was designed to be easily cleaned up. The doors are also in phenomenal condition, as well as the dashboard. The dash houses the original Land Rover gauges as well as a clock and 12 volt receptacle. Under the hood, the D90 boasts the 241 cubic inch, 4.0L V8, capable of 182 horsepower. Attached to the engine is a ZF 4-Speed automatic transmission with transmission oil cooler and permanent 4-wheel drive. It comes complete with power steering, air conditioning 4-wheel disc power brakes. It sits upon a set of 7" x 16" cast aluminum alloy "Freestyle" Land Rover wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All Terrain LT265/75R16 tires that still have some of the factory "teets" from new . There is a matching full size spare on the back of the SUV that is covered with the OEM tire cover. When we took it in on consignment, we wanted to be 100% positive that the vehicle was in perfect running shape and safe -- the truck was transported to Plaza Land Rover in St. Louis to have it serviced. Let it be noted that Plaza Land Rover is the dealership which took delivery of the D90 back in 1997 and sold it to our client! On the included invoice, you will see that the "IN" mileage is 41 and the "OUT" mileage is 49. Further, Plaza Land Rover verified the mileage on the Defender to be real and actual. They drained and cleaned the fuel tank, installed a new fuel pump and seal, changed the original oil out for fresh oil, flushed the coolant, power steering fluid and both differentials, bled the brakes and put in new fluid and then they even entered the original radio code so that the radio would work.
