As is usual in nonlinear physics one can rarely employ standard methods - nonlinear systems require specialized thinking to provide useful progress. Nevertheless some generic techniques like scaling on the one hand and bifurcation theory on the other can find powerful ramifications in the explored issues. In this discussion meeting we will focus on recent advances in this field and the outstanding open questions.
