Step into the heart of Atlantic Canada's freight network as we explore the powerful connection between ocean and rail in Saint John, New Brunswick. We begin with a short look at the city's rich port history, then turn our attention to the modern container operations at the Port of Saint John, where towering cranes—recently expanded with the arrival of two new post-Panamax units—unload containers from a visiting MSC vessel. From ship to rail, we follow the containers as they’re handed off to New Brunswick Southern Railway (NBSR) and built into Train 121, seen departing the West End of Ponderosa Yard with a fresh block of intermodal traffic. But there’s more rail action on the waterfront. We catch CN 594 hauling empty potash hoppers from the Courtenay Bay Potash Terminal, a vital part of Saint John’s bulk export economy. Later, another 594 makes an impressive appearance as it crosses the Hammond River Trestle—a scenic highlight on CN’s Sussex Subdivision. This documentary captures the rhythm of Saint John’s working port, where cranes swing, ships dock, and freight trains keep the region moving. 📍 Scenes include: Rodney Container Terminal and new cranes MSC vessel unloading NBSR 121 departing Ponderosa Yard CN 594 with empty potash hoppers at Courtenay Bay CN 594 crossing the Hammond River Trestle And more! 🚂 Featuring: 🔹 New Brunswick Southern Railway (NBSR) 🔹 Canadian National (CN) 🔹 Port of Saint John operations 🔹 Intermodal and bulk freight 👉 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and leave a comment if you’ve railfanned Saint John or want to visit! #SaintJohn #NBSR #CNrail #PortOfSaintJohn #Railfanning #Train121 #CN594 #Intermodal #Potash #HammondRiverTrestle #ContainerTrain #AtlanticCanada #MaritimeFreightRails to the Sea: Railroading Action at the Port of Saint John 🇨🇦🚢🚂 00:00 Intro 01:36 NBSR 121 at Ketepec Road 04:09 NBSR 120 at Westfield 06:19 CN 594 at Saint John 07:27 CN 594 at Rothesay 09:20 CN 594 at Hammond River
