The Congenital Heart Initiative: Collaborating to Understand and Improve Life with ACHD

Each year, more than 40,000 babies are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). There are now more adults living with CHD than children in the United States. The ACHD patient population is a new frontier of medicine – one where in order to make discoveries, we must improve our understanding of adult CHD patients. By working together — patients, providers, and researchers — we can accelerate discoveries and spur further ACHD research. The Congenital Heart initiative (or CHI) is an international registry of patients affected by congenital heart disease.
