However, when Vijay Kumar reached with the wedding procession to marry her, the bride’s family allegedly refused the marriage, claiming that his promise had not been fulfilled. Angered by the situation, Vijay Kumar wore his groom attire and went to Bathinda’s Canal Colony Police Station to lodge a complaint against Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann for allegedly making false promises. Though the act was done in a satirical manner, the incident highlights the growing public questions about when the Punjab government’s promise of ₹1000 per month for women will be implemented.
