POWER LOOMS FOR VILLAGES Weaving capacity (40 to 45 mt in 12 hours) Here is the simple electric loom working automatically on 0.5 hp motor. Production capacity per hour is at least 4 mt. One person can run 2 or 3 or even 4 looms . Total weight of the loom is only 300 kg. It is with under pick mechanism and take up motion mechanism. Speciality of this loom is that we have removed crank shaft and bottom shaft both and we have used straight bright bars. So no any event of crankshaft breaking. Everywhere bearings are used. So power consumption is minimum. I strongly recommend that wherever power is available, such electric looms should be installed. Power expense per mt is only Rs.1/-. So I do not recommend pedal loom. Profit in power loom is at least 3 times than pedal looms. Power looms can work at least 12 hours. But pedal loom can not work more than 8 hours.
