E-l Malei Rachamim – Bar Zemach (Live at “A Night to Honor Israel” on the 15th of February 2025) This is a live performance of E-l Malei Rachamim, the Jewish prayer for the souls of the departed. Traditionally recited on days of mourning and remembrance, it calls for divine compassion and peace. The melody is rooted in the Ahava Raba mode, known for its deep emotional expression and spiritual longing. The performance was part of “A Night to Honor Israel,” in which Holocaust survivor Gita Koifman gave a testimony alongside Ilan Dalal, the father of Guy Dalal, who is still alive in Gaza. This year, Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day, coincided with Medz Yeghern, the Armenian Genocide Memorial Day. A shared day of mourning that reminds us - Never Again. Now, more than ever, we must do everything we can to bring them home from the ongoing Holocaust they are enduring in Gaza as hostages of terrorists. Just one week later, Israel marks Yom HaZikaron to honor the victims of terror and fallen soldiers. Let us all pray with the souls of the departed. E-l Malei Rachamim.
