After fully reassembling the analyzer in the last video, the HP 8563A is finally showing signs of life. In this video, we tackle two major issues that appeared after powering it back on: 1️⃣ The A21 oscillator (MC833X4 OCXO) is dead (no 10 MHz reference = unusable analyzer). 2️⃣ The attenuator (HP 5096-7783) remains silent (no clicks, no attenuation…). Where did these problems come from? A misplugged connector (J401), causing ERROR 201 and an unresponsive keyboard. A faulty A21 oscillator (missing trimmer cover, zero output). An attenuator with a disconnected control board (and a suspicious sticker on an IC… spoiler: a failed "repair" attempt!).
