John 18:33-37 Today, we celebrate Jesus as King of the Universe. But His kingship is not like the worldly kings we imagine. He brings a message of love, humility, and truth. Let’s reflect on three themes to understand His kingship. The King and the Forgotten Jesus is the King who remembers those the world forgets. In His ministry, He cared for the poor, the sick, and the outcasts. Unlike earthly kings who focus on power and wealth, Jesus rules with compassion. He teaches us that His kingdom is for everyone, especially those in need. Are we remembering the forgotten in our lives? Are we living as citizens of this compassionate kingdom? Jesus, the King Who Understands Our Language When Jesus stood before Pilate, He spoke with wisdom and truth. Jesus speaks in a way that everyone can understand, whether they are rulers or ordinary people. He understands the language of our hearts—our fears, joys, and struggles. He doesn’t just speak to us; He listens. When we pray, we are talking to a King who truly understands us. Do we take time to talk to Him and hear His voice? The Kingdom Within Jesus tells Pilate, “My kingdom is not of this world.” His kingdom is not about buildings or borders—it starts within us. When we live with love, truth, and kindness, we allow His kingdom to grow in our hearts and spread to others. Jesus invites us to be part of this kingdom today. Are we letting His peace and justice rule in our lives? Jesus is the King who remembers the forgotten, understands our deepest needs, and builds a kingdom within us. Let us open our hearts to His love and live as His faithful people, sharing His kingdom with the world.
