I have heard many of you ask for #drumcover of Dio on this channel so let's go. Dio's Straight Through The Heart. Fantastic song showcasing the power of #RonnieJamesDio and #VinnyAppice. Both men were legends in metal. It was an honor to try this. Admittedly, I went for a beefy, thick snare sound 🤘🤘. I also tried (very much) to honor the track's phenomenal lock with the bass. Such a great band and I hope you all like this week's choice. Also hoping I can get back to a semi-regular schedule. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Trey UPDATE 6/25/22 - So................this particular video had been a pleasant surprise in terms of the number of folks that reacted positively. It was such a pleasant surprise that I covered Stand Up And Shout for release today. I uploaded and got an immediate world wide block. It remains confusing at best since I couldn't be more clear that it was an honor to cover RJD's material. But, with that said and sincerely so - this stuff makes me and many, many, many other cats turn our backs on artists for the long haul. While I fully understand there is little to nothing that I can offer the publishers of Dio's catalogue in terms of wide ranging reach, the one thing I can offer them is my best effort in paying homage to their work and sharing it with my friends on here - which may be considered very little but to me, it counts. I make no plans to dispute or contest the various claims other than I intend to send Vinny Appice a message of some kind in hopes that (a) he might read it and (b) if he does, he might have some kind of say. I'll simply end this by saying this was done with care and with the intent to be as close to authentic as possible out of respect to both Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice. UPDATE 7/29/22 - Hell if I understand this but it's public again. So, alright! Nothing has changed though. I still hate that the momentum this had in terms of views was interrupted. Still, glad to see it's back up (for now)
