By Popular Demand! Today I am going to show you how I made this Upcycle Patchwork Hoodie! This is the second one I have made, after posting the first one on a Social Media Group I received many requests on how I made this absolutely adorable hoodie! And what better excuse is to make a video showing you how you can do this too. Disclaimer: This is my method; I am sure there are more methods out there, but this is my technique that I came up with after watching many videos that were not very helpful. My Patchwork Design (for a Woman’s Medium Sweatshirt) Front and Back Body of Shirt: Bottom Row = 2 Squares @ 12-1/4” wide x 12-7/8” tall Middle Row = 2 squares @ 8” wide x 8-1/2” tall and 1 square @ 8- 1/4” wide x 8-1/2” tall. Top Row = 2 Rectangles @ 12-1/4” wide and 8” tall. Sleeves: Add for seam allowances Top Row (by shoulder) = 20” wide x 10-14” tall Middle Row = 16-1/4” wide x 7-7/8” tall Bottom Row = 13” wide x 7” tall Front Hand Warmer Pocket: I cut two pieces by tracing the actual pocket and sewing them to the pocket and make pocket according to folds Materials Used: Medium Weight Sweatshirt – https://www.shirtspace.com Quilting Cotton – https://www.modafabrics.com (designer is Lorilynn Simms) Quilting Thread from Gutterman Woven fuse or SF101 https://www.gotinterfacing.com ¼” Double sided tape – https://www.wawak.com Good Sharp Scissors Tiny Snipping Scissors Pins and Clips Video Time Stamps 0:00 - = Introduction. 0:00- 13:10 = How I take the sweatshirt apart. 13:11 – 14:48 = Making sure I have all the pieces. 14:49 - 36:27 = Cutting the patchwork pieces for the shirt front and placement of the pieces. 36:28 – 38:37 = Showing the big patchwork block for the front of the shirt. 38:38 – 45:18 = Working on the back of the shirt – trimming pieces to make them straighter. 45:19 – 54:30 = Cutting out front piece of shirt. 54:31 -57:10 = Explaining the handwarmer pocket. 57:11 – 59:29 = Sewing the patchwork onto the front pocket. 59:30 – 1:03:50 = Topstitching the front pocket. 1:03:51 – 1:09:58 = Attaching the Patchwork block onto the front fleece of the shirt. 1:09:59 – 1:12:44 = Stitching in the Ditch on the front piece. (Not shown sewing patchwork onto front piece). 1:12:45 – 1:19:54 = Placing and attaching the patchwork to the sleeve. 1:19:55 – 1:26:01 = Sewing the sleeve together and attaching the cuff. 1:26:02 – 1:28:41 = Sewing the front and back main body pieces together. 1:28:42 – 1:34:16 = Attaching the sleeves to the body of the sweatshirt. 1:34:14 – 1:40:20 = Attaching the bottom banding to the bottom of the sweatshirt. 1:41:21 – 1:40:37 = What we have so far. 1:40:38 – 1:48:00 = Attaching the hoodie to the sweatshirt. 1:48:01 – 1:50:02 = Al Done.
