Kilchurn Castle to Fort William To Visit Killchrun Castle you can park in the gravel car park on the edge of Loch Awe (link below) and take the 10 minute walk to the castle. Parking by day is free To park over night it costs £10.00 and the money is collected by the land owner in the evening when all of the day visitors have left leaving only camper vans or car campers. You are given a receipt for the payment. After a morning or photography at Loch Awe and the castle I then drove to St. Conon’s Kirk and then Glencoe along what has to be one of the most beautifully scenic roads I have ever seen. On a clear day it cannot be beaten I am certain. Once I reached the small town of Glencoe I parked up in the small car park at the end of the town (location below) I then drove from Glencoe to Fort William once again along the A82 and then explored Fort William which was not what I expected the town to be. I had expected a far older town with more history and older buildings. The Town is a big destination for Hikers and Climbers which is not surprising as the Nevis Range of Mountains, including the Highest Mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis are located close by. Unfortunately the weather turned after my walk around Fort William with Heavy rain so I did not film in the evening. I found a Park up for me and my van for the night, cooked and evening meal and chilled out for the night.
