Violin: Italian violin by Sesto Rocchi 1977 Sound samples of the Thomastik-Infeld Luthier strings. TI is the short form of 'Thomastik-Infeld' , feels like Vision a lot, easy to play, simple and direct, sounding less 'plastic' but even more 'metallic', with a very low tension D string, which doesn't sound consistent without careful playing. Rondo is the mid point between Dominant and PI, less rough than Dominant and more punch than PI. From the photo we can see a continuous change in thickness from G to E , with the carbon steel A much thinner than 'normal', looking and sounding more like the E than the D ( high tension and very difficult to tune!) , this is kind of the Russian taste which intend to keep the sound consistency in high register passages when both the A and E strings are played. Please feel free to comment. Thank you.
