Bipolar and Love Relationships: 5 Things We Want Our Partner To Know

When you live with bipolar disorder, love relationships can be challenging. It is difficult for our partners to understand our condition and the way in which stigma affects our lives on a daily basis. In my opinion, based off my experience living with bipolar 2 disorder, I feel a lot of relationship problems occur when there is no open communication. Our partner doesn't understand our lives with bipolar disorder and we are too exhausted to explain. Educating them about mental health, and getting them involved in the conversation, is the foundation for a good love relationship. Love relationships are difficult, whether bipolar disorder is present or not. If the person is worth it, they will try their best to understand our life with bipolar disorder. To help out, I came up with five things I want my love interest to know and understand about my life with bipolar disorder.
