Ingredients for chana masala Boiled chickpeas...................................................200 grams Onion paste...........................................................2 large. Tomato puree.........................................................2 large. Ginger & garlic paste.............................................2 tsp. Red chilli powder...................................................2 -1/2 tsp. Chhola masala........................................................ 2 tsp sp. Turmeric powder...................................................1/4 tea sp. Garam masala powder.........................................1/2 tea sp. Coriander leaves....................................................as required Cumin seeds .........................................................1/2 tsp. Salt....................................................................... ..to taste Coriander powder...................................................3 tsp. Lemon juice.............................................................1/2 lemon. whole garam masala ............................................. 2 green cardamom ,1 large cardamom,4 cloves 1/4 tsp caraway. Green chilli ............................................................ .2 Potatoes .............................................................. ..2 large. oil ........................................................................ ..as required Method 1) Put oil and fry cubed potato till they become soft. 2) Add all the spices(khada masala)and fry ,add cumin half add onion,paste and fry till golden.Add ginger & garlic paste & fry. Add turmeric powder,garam masala powder,coriander powder,red chilli powder.Keep on stirring. 3) Add tomato puree ,add little bit of water leave it for 3-4 min . Add chhola masala & salt & lemon juice .Add boiled chickpeas or chhola. Mix all the well put water according to your liking cover the lid and cook for 5 min.Mash a little bit. 4) Take another pan,put 2-3 tea sp of desi ghee, and cumin . Slit green chilli and put in ghee fry them till crunchy .Add to the gravy. Simmer for 1 min close the lid. 5) Garnish with coriander leaves.
