FIFTH STATION HOPE BEYOND LIMITATION

Welcome back to our series. Today, we arrive at our fifth station, which presents us with one of the most moving dramas in St Mark’s Gospel. We have titled this episode 'Crossing the Threshold – Hope Beyond Limitation'. We find ourselves in the midst of a crushing crowd, witnessing two desperate stories interwoven into a single narrative: a woman suffering from twelve years of isolation, and a father facing the immediate death of his twelve-year-old daughter. It is a station that confronts the two great limits of human existence: chronic, long-term suffering and death itself. To help us explore how Christ crosses these thresholds to offer the fullness of life, I am very pleased to welcome Fr. Sahil Gill of the Society of Jesus.
