EDIT March 4, 2024: At 14:20 it wasn't really a week later; it was about 2-3 months later (not sure what I was thinking during the edit LOL) EDIT March 3, 2024: This rebuild occurred in 2018; I no longer own this vehicle. =============================== JDM Nissan EXA imported from Nagoya in 2016. JDM EXAs all had the CA16DE as opposed to the more popular CA18DE. They also had NDIS (Nissan Direct Ignition) as opposed the standard 4-coilpack setups on CA18DEs. After a while the engine began to lose power & eventually stalled. I took the opportunity to go through the entire car, source a fresh engine, rebuild/refresh that engine & swap it in. I found a CA16DE from a European Nissan Sunny N13 to swap. While swapping, I went through the entire car & the new engine with new parts from the back on forward: Fuel Tank, Pump, Lines, Filters, Injectors All exhaust hardware (cat bolts, manifold studs, O2 sensors, etc & clean all shields) All engine & transmission wear items (seals, hoses, fluids, gaskets & whatever NOS sensors I could find (found all except the idle control valve) & clean/degrease the engine block & transmission housing) Throttle body coolant flow path delete Starter, alternator, direct-ignition coils/wires (this engine doesn't have traditional CA-engine coil packs) All transmission wear items: bearing, pressure plates, linkage boots, springs, etc All sensors & switches: neutral, reverse, temp, fan, etc All front-side parts: oil pump, timing belt, idler pulley, tensioner, water pump, shaft seals, etc Head gasket & cylinder head surfacing w/new valve seats, springs, seals, etc Remanufactured steering rack w/new ball joints Clean & scrub all the engine bay filth from 35 years in Nagoya Install & troubleshoot Enjoy
