Big setback to Yogi Govt! Supreme Court’s interim stay on ‘nameplate’ order by UP Govt

In a major setback to CM Yogi, the Supreme Court on July 22 ordered a stay on UP Government’s ‘nameplate’ directive. SC issued notices to UP, Uttarakhand & MP Govts on petitions challenging their order on directing display of shop owners on Kanwar route. The Apex Court in its order said that the shop vendors must not be forced to serve names of owners, staff employed. Earlier, UP Police urged all the eateries to "voluntarily display" the names of their owners and employees.
