Why do you suddenly feel like you are not yourself anymore? Carl Jung believed that this unsettling phase often appears during individuation, when your old identity begins dissolving before a new one fully forms. In this video we explore identity transition, the psychology of feeling lost, and why being between identities is actually a sign of psychological growth. If you feel undefined, disconnected from your past self, or uncertain about who you are becoming, this stage may not be confusion but transformation. Carl Jung described this stage as the ego separating from outdated identifications. Much of what we call identity is actually adaptation to roles, expectations, and environments that once helped us survive and belong. But individuation requires something deeper. When the persona loosens and the ego stops clinging to fixed labels, identity enters a transitional space. This space can feel uncomfortable. Less certainty. Less automatic reactions. Less attachment to the version of yourself you used to be. In this video we explore: Why you no longer feel like your old self The psychology of identity transition How individuation dissolves outdated roles Why feeling undefined is part of growth The difference between being lost and evolving How identity reorganizes during inner development Key Moments (CHAPTERS): 00:00 Don't Skip! 00:10 Act I: When You Don’t Feel Like Yourself Anymore 08:03 Act II: When the Old Identity No Longer Fits 15:06 Act III: Learning to Live in the In-Between Without Forcing Clarity 21:16 Conclusion: Between Identities Is Not Failure #carljung #jungianpsychology #identityshift #individuation #selfawareness #innergrowth #depthpsychology #ego #personaldevelopment #psychologicaltransition #innerwork #emotionalmaturity Psychological References (CARL JUNG) The ideas explored in this video are grounded in Carl Jung’s work on individuation, ego, power, and authority, particularly in: The Relations Between the Ego and the Unconscious Two Essays on Analytical Psychology Aion The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious Want to deep dive into Jung's wisdom?
