I grow spring bulbs every year, loads of them in fact. But this? This is completely new territory. This year, I’m having a go at growing daffodils for show. That means specific varieties, tiny pots, strict rules, and a very strange thing called “the plunge.” I’ll be honest, it’s a bit nerve-wracking, but I’ve got support from the brilliant folks at The Caley, and I’m taking you along for the ride. In this video, I’m planting up my show bulbs, explaining what divisions actually mean (without the confusing jargon), and learning why show growers bury their pots in sand for months. If you’ve ever thought about showing plants, or just want to understand your bulbs a bit better, this is a cracking place to start. Are you tempted to give it a try too?
