Hot Tuna plays "Keep On Truckin'" on the Splashdown CD. Jorma Kaukonen & Jack Cassidy are in a studio for a radio show. The radio station WQIV had a Saturday night show during which groups like the Dead and Hot Tuna showed up in a radio and played live on the air--or they groups were in the studo a few days before. On Thursday, July 24, 1975, Jack and Jorma stopped by the radio station and performed live in the studio. When Hot Tuna showed up, the results were recorded and eventually issued on a cd. The cd titled Splashdown opens with the announcer introducing Jack and Jorma while they tune in the background before jumping into Oh Lord Search My Heart. Then the cd offers Death Don't Have No Mercy. Next is I Am The Light Of This World but Jorma forgets some words--that forgivable. During Police Dog Blues we get transmission Apollo-Soyuz Mission returning to Earth. That explains the cd's title--Splashdown. Get it? It was the first joint space mission between the U.S.A. and Russia. Which event was more historic? That joint space mission--or Hot Tuna at a radio station during the ensemble's prime or peak years?
