Police have a list of four main suspects sought in the attacks, all of them hail from Ripoll, a quiet, upscale town of 10,000 about 100 kilometers north of Barcelona. It also emerged on Saturday that police have searched the apartment of an imam from Ripoll, named as Abdelbaki Es Satty. Neighbours living in the apartment block said that police came to the apartment on Friday and an apparent search warrant authorized police to remove any terrorism-related "weapons, ammunition, explosives, instruments, documents or papers". "I was sleeping. Then I heard lots of people. I was frightened. I thought it was the mafia or something. And then I heard: "Police!" and then we calmed down," explained El Jabouri Ayyoub, one of the imam's neighbours. In Thursday's carnage claimed by the Islamic State group, a white van swerved onto Barcelona's historic Las Ramblas pedestrian promenade, killing 13 people and injuring more than 100 as it ploughed through tourists and locals.
