Commissioned in March, 1980, 899 Naval Air Squadron was the headquarters & training unit for all Royal Navy Sea Harrier air & ground crews. Operating a number of two-seat Harrier aircraft alongside the single-seat SHAR ( the nickname for the Sea Harrier), the squadron was operational until 2005, when it was the penultimate squadron to decommission. This video, filmed in June, 1994, shows a Harrier T.4N undertaking aircrew training at its home of RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset. The video shows the aircraft performing various take-off and landings, including vertical landings onto Yeovilton's 'Dummy Deck'.
