Released January 11 1946 Little LuLu cartoon in Bargain Counter Attack is one of my favorites. Now you can see it in the color it was meant to be. For years all you could find was green black and white for this cartoon basically, a little brown but that was it. We restored this cartoon Bargain Counter Attack for the DVD The Worlds First Female Super Hero as a bonus cartoon. Little LuLu Full Restoration with True Color and Sound, HD Full Edit. Since we restored this cartoon at Technicolor in Vancouver with Sunny Day on Davanci (but big one not the software) we went back to the original production notes for when this cartoon was made in Technicolor back in 1946. Somehow over the years blue became green, As you can see, the opening cards are suppose to be blue not green and the ice scene is similarly blue. However it can be noted that overall this is a very green cartoon even when it was new. Elements of this cartoon which was directed by Izzy Sparber with story by Bill Turner and Nick Tafuri, can be seen in later comedy sitcoms on classic TV (many Famous Studio cartoon plots ended up being rewritten as sitcom plots in the late 50s and early 60s as some of the writers and directors migrated out of Famous and over to the various TV studios. One film in particular takes many bits from this cartoon, Jerry Lewis's The Big Store, he even mentioned it in an interview on the Jack Par Show back in the 60s. I hope you enjoy this one, many consider some of the Famous Cartoons through always, but Bargain Counter Attack is a truly original plot that was copied many times, so deserves our attention. Kids will find its slapstick humor very funny, and unlike much of the old slapstick, there is little of what you call actual valance. Enjoy this restoration as much as I did making it look good for once! Thomas R Reich PhD The Cartoon Crazys Channel
