Starting our ride from Nagar Khas, we head toward Hooper Valley, located about 10 km from Nagar Khas. The road has been recently improved, making the journey smoother and more scenic. Along the way, we pass through charming villages surrounded by apricot and cherry trees, with the majestic Rakaposhi and Diran Peaks standing tall in the background. The highlight of this journey is the Hooper Glacier, known as the world’s only inverted glacier — where the glacier lies below and the inhabited village is above it. This rare geological formation makes Hooper Glacier truly unique in the world. From here, several small streams and rivers flow down to join the Hunza River, creating spectacular views of nature’s beauty. Hooper Valley also serves as the starting point of the famous Rush Lake trek — one of the highest alpine lakes in the world, located at an elevation of around 4,694 meters (15,400 ft).
