In this video, we compare some of the most iconic microphones ever! Listen to the differences between the Neumann U87 Ai, Neumann U67 Vintage, Neumann U67 Modern, Flea M251, and Telefunken C12 on acoustic guitar. Each microphone was positioned approximately 25 cm from the sound source, aimed between the shoulder of the guitar and the 12th fret, to best capture the tonal characteristics of each. No processing has been applied; what you hear is the pure recording made with an Apollo X8 audio interface and a Unison Neve 1073 Preamp.
