Heritage Patriots: The Weight of Legacy is a short documentary that follows the 2025 Heritage High School varsity football team through a season filled with history, struggle, and heart. This film looks at where the program came from, what shaped it, and how this year’s players carried the pressure of the teams before them. From Friday night lights to the hard moments that tested their confidence, this story shows the pride, unity, and fight inside this team. Heritage High School, located in Menifee, California, has a long tradition of strong football culture and loyal community support. Over the years, the team has built a reputation for toughness and discipline, and each new class takes on the challenge of holding up that legacy. This documentary gives a closer look at that weight and what it means to the people who live it. This project started as a simple idea by my brother Jacob in the summer of this year, which ended up turning into my first documentary film. We both meticulously planned this documentary and beg recording moments that felt important: interviews, bus rides, celebrations, and quiet reflections. What I didn’t expect was how much this season would teach me about storytelling, teamwork, and my own passion for filmmaking. I’m grateful to every player, coach, and supporter who made this season unforgettable and gave me a chance to capture it.
