I just used the foam here to keep it nice and slippery since I don't have water running on it. When the shaver makes that "brrt brrt brrt brrt" sound when you go too fast, all you have to do is lift it off for a second, wait, then keep going (at a slower pace this time). Moving it in circles (rather than back and forth in a line) seems to be mandatory for me if I don't shave for a week. Usually this is never a problem because I shave every day. The shaving foam I used is Shave Gel Sensitive (Gillette make it) - (see the link above). But any decent foam/gel/cream should work. Make sure you empty out the shaver a couple times if your hairs are long (once or twice during the shave).
