China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) was established in 1979 under the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. In 2003, the company underwent strategic reorganization and was merged into China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) as approved by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). As one of the pioneers performing international contracting and economic cooperation, CCECC has developed from the former Foreign Aid Department of the Ministry of Railway of China in to a large-scale state-owned enterprise with Chinese National Super Grade Qualification for railway project contracting, and has been listed among the world’s top 100 international contractors for 19 consecutive years by the Engineering News Record. Ever since the 1960s when CCECC contracted the largest foreign aid project—Tanzania-Zambia Railway, CCECC has established subsidiaries, branch offices or project management headquarters in 94 countries and regions, spreading across Asia, Europe, Africa, America and Oceania with its business covering project contracting, design and consultancy, economic & trade cooperation park development and management, real estate development, railway operation, investment, logistics and hotel operation etc. Our incessant efforts in implementing the “Belt and Road” initiative has led to the commencement or follow-up of projects in more than 30 countries along the “Belt and Road”. Among the more than 12,000km of international railroads built by Chinese enterprises so far, more than 8,000km was constructed by CCECC, which has a total number of more than 38,000 employees globally, and becomes well-known in the industry as the pioneer for the “going global” of Chinese railways. With its solid foundation and expansion in the engineering contracting market, CCECC is striving to develop in the direction of “1+N” diversified businesses with focused specialties. Its investment and financing ability is steadily strengthening while its operational fields are continuously expanding.
