Hey everyone, Here’s a super important concept that I’m surprised more people don’t know. When we talk about the SI joint being “out of alignment,” this phrase doesn’t tell you exactly what’s going on. There are a ton of videos on YouTube that promise to “fix” your alignment— but they don’t even explain to you what’s going on. The reality is that there are several different patterns in which your SI joints can be misaligned. These include: -Anterior and posterior rotation -Upslip and downslip -Outflare and inflare -Sacral torsion (a closely-related concept) The right physical therapist or other practitioner should be able to assess you for all of these patterns, and explain to you very clearly what’s going on. Once you can begin to recognize and understand these patterns in yourself, the more you can begin to take control of your own health again.
