borgo di Chiusure sorse intorno ad un'antica chiesa denominata Sant'Angelo in Luco, già esistente nell'VIII secolo quando fu oggetto di contesa fra i vescovi di Siena e di Arezzo, ricadendo poi sotto la giurisdizione di quest'ultimo. Centro Panorama La nobile famiglia Tolomei di Siena aveva vari possedimenti nei dintorni di Chiusure. Nel 1313, Bernardo Tolomei si ritirò per condurre una vita eremitica in una sua proprietà nel deserto di Accona non lontana da Chiusure e lì fondò, nel 1319, la Congregazione Olivetana. Nel 1333 Antonio di Meo Tolomei acquistò il borgo di Chiusure cedendo poi al popolo i terreni e le abitazioni. Nel XIV secolo la chiesa di Sant'Angelo in Luco, mutando il suo nome in San Michele in Luco, venne affidata alla vicina abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore insieme alla quale, nel 1462, entrò a far parte della Diocesi di Pienza. Nel 1777, Chiusure, da comune autonomo, divenne frazione di Asciano. The village of Chiusure arose around an ancient church called Sant'Angelo in Luco, which already existed in the 8th century when it was the object of contention between the bishops of Siena and Arezzo, later falling under the jurisdiction of the latter. In 1313, Bernardo Tolomei retired to lead a hermit's life on his property in the Accona desert not far from Chiusure and there he founded, in 1319, the Olivetan Congregation. In 1333 Antonio di Meo Tolomei purchased the village of Chiusure, later giving the land and homes to the people. In the 14th century, the church of Sant'Angelo in Luco, changing its name to San Michele in Luco, was entrusted to the nearby abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore together with which, in 1462, it became part of the Diocese of Pienza. In 1777, Chiusure, from an independent municipality, became a hamlet of Asciano.
