This is the ultimate Serum Tutorial on how to use the Serum synth showing all the basics, overview, and all the functions of the synth. This is a 3 part tutorial. Enjoy! Below is a step by step breakdown of the tutorial if that helps :) Getting to Grips With Wavetables: Click on the wavetable graphic to get a “3D” view of the wavetable. Doesn’t look like much on the default setting so select the wavetable Monster 1 [SL] from the spectral section and move the WT Pos to both see and hear the movement through the wavetable. This dial allows you to move through each frame of the wavetable in sequence creating a ‘morphing’ type sound. Warp menu - a whole host of options to warp the audio, with a dial for the warp depth. Select Bend +/- and move the warp dial to hear the effect. If you click on the wavetable graphic to go back in to “2D” mode then you should be able to see the effect it’s having on the waveform. Unison mode - up to 16 voice unison. Use the Detune dial to set the amount of detuning (lower means closer to the original pitch) and Blend to balance the original with the unison voices. Play position - the Rand dial controls where the waveform starts each time. With Rand up it could trigger anywhere. When Rand is turned right down use the Phase dial to pick where you want the playback to start. if you’re having problems with two consecutive notes of the same pitch sounding different, turn down Rand! By clicking the pencil in the upper right corner of the wavetable display you can access a more in advanced area where you can import audio to a wavetable at the top of the screen and edit your tables frame by frame.
