Railfanning the CSX Fitzgerald Sub - November 2021

On Friday November 26th, I was invited along for a train chasing trip on the Fitzgerald sub. On my way, I received word about a Q647 at Manchester with a UP Tier 4 SD70AH leading. As I approached Manchester I heard that they would be holding at Woodland for train Q601 to get in the clear at Santee, since the grade south from Santee is very steep and hard to get started on. I arrived to see the UP, along with a CN and a CSX GP40! we chased south to Talbotton and then Mauk where we waited on G372 who surprisingly had a SD40-3 leader. We saw E041 with a RS3K horn roll north, and somehow beat them to Junction City, where we waited on G126 with BNSF power (We saw the train in Manchester on our way in). We stumbled into Q649 at Talbotton and doubled back to get them at Junction City mining. We grabbed Lunch in Manchester and rolled south to Woodland again for I125 with a pair of YN2s, and then saw E041 at Manchester as we headed for the house.
