Editor John Bartlett talks to journalist and historian Laurence Blair about his upcoming book, which aims to uncover the understudied parts of South America's rich history. In this interview, Blair discusses the history of 'forgotten' countries such as Bolivia and Paraguay, and puts forward the case for their inclusion in the outward narrative of the region. He also shares his deep personal attachment to Bolivia's claim to the sea; and contemplates Paraguay's position as a relative unknown in the tapestry of Latin American history.
