The Italian early baroque singer-songwriter superstar Giulio Caccini (1551-1618) is best known for his beautiful songs like "Amarilli, mia bella", but his explosive and sometimes humorous side is less often explored. That side is what we were about to delve into on a special afternoon in our temporary lair, an old semi-abandoned tram paint shop at the edge of town. We got a bit carried away by the energy of the brilliant sunlight blasting through the huge windows and the fascinating, strange resonance of the room - and by the knowledge of the fact that we would soon lose this performing and recording location that had already grown so dear to us - but we captured something that day. Perhaps it was something a bit different from the usual, both for us and in early music in general. Whatever it is, the process was fun!
