Mary Adelaide Scipioni is a NYS Registered Landscape Architect and Associate Adjunct Professor at RIT's Golisano Institute for Sustainability, where she teaches site design to graduate architecture students. Originally from and currently orbiting Rochester NY, she has worked in New York City, New England, and Italy, where she lived for eighteen years. Mary loves designing landscapes, teaching, and writing. Fortunately, she met another ex-pat and they are happily herding their respective children through school before going on to their next adventure. Mary's design consultancy is called pebble-stream. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
