1 Peter 5:8 BE SOBER MINDED and watchful, the adversary is on the move We must be sober-minded, watchful and vigilant because the devil is always on the move. 1peter 5:8 tells us he (the devil) is like a roaring lion seeking to devour the spiritually weak, those distracted by the business of life and those that are trying to fit in and be accepted by others. It doesn’t matter if you are a Christian or not his desire is to steal, kill and destroy the lives of people; and if we are not sober minded, we might not be able to decern when he’s lurking around in our life. Being sober minded means, you are fully aware of the need to stay close to God in prayer and reading of the word of God. This also include being selective of who we hang with, where we go, and what we do. Its easy to become distracted at work and even at home to the point of loosing yourself in arguments, inappropriate conversations, and distractions. Without a sober-mind, subtle idols will slowly begin to take root.
